This years Edinburgh Shul Outing was a huge success. The days events in Edinburgh were Organised and presented by David Neville, who himself wrote the play 'Kaddish For Pinter' which is being performed at the Festival. Around 70 people from Newton Mearns Hebrew Congregation and other Glasgow shuls made the 60 mile journey to Edinburgh by coach early on Sunday morning. Edinburgh shul played host and the Shul Events Committee provided a beautiful bagel lunch followed by entertainment in the form of 'Snippets' from a dozen acts who were perfoming at the Edinburgh Festival. For those who had not visited Edinburgh shul before, a tour of the Shul was conducted by the two David's, Rabbi David Rose and David Goldberg. The afternoon concluded with some free-time to take in the Festival atmosphere or catch a show. A wonderful time was had by all, Gary Winston kindly provided the photographs which can be seen below. A big thank-you to Edinburgh Shul for their superb hospitality and to Paul Shafar for organising and managing the day for the Glasgow contingent. |
